First,
Treat others how you want to be treated. Welcome members and guests alike, be kind, and display respect to all. Do not reck havoc over the site or start unneccesary drama. Keep cussing/cursing to a minimum, if any at all. This site is rated PG-14, so there should be absolutely no nudity or sexual innuedos towards other members. This also includes images and sexual scenes -- I will not stand for it. If you're dating someone on the site, that's fine -- but leave your personal romance sessions to yourselves. This goes for any disturbing personal matters as well -- abuse, overuse of alcohol, drugs, rape, etc. Those sort of intense problems are for real life, for real people in your life to help you, not for your online associates. We're not counselors and, believe me, some of us do not want to know about that sort of thing; and some of us do not need to know, fore I'm sure there are users under 13{no offense, of course} wandering about. But, please, bare in mind that this rule does not exclude daily troubles and concerns -- they can be shared if it is thick in your mind and you feel the need to share it. And, please, do not shy from asking any questions... whether it be regarding the site, the series, or if you're new to roleplaying. There is bound to be someone to help you out.
If you're going to join, do not just join and then drop off the face of the Earth. We want members who will come online frequently. We want members to be active, post, roleplay, and have fun. If you're going to be gone for a period of time, post here and let us know before you leave.
Players playing a canon charcater are required to be online at least once a week while players playing their own characters are only required to be online once every two weeks. if you occupy a canon character and are gone without notice for longer than a week and a half{10-11 days}, your canon character will stripped from you and up for grabs once again. If you occupy an original character and are inactive with them for more than a month{31 days}, then the inactive original character(s) will be deleted. If you continue to be inactive for two months{62 days}, then all of your characters will be deleted and your accounts will be purged.
Second,
This roleplay is semi-literate to literate based, which means no one liners. No two-liners. No three-liners. Each and every roleplay post must be, in the least, one whole paragraph, which is 5-8 sentences or 200 words usually. Your posts must be in Third Person, with pronouns like "she", "he", "it", "his", "hers", etc. and be in past tense, like "ran", "saw", "cooked", etc. No first person. No present tense unless your character is thinking. Ex: She jumped over the fence to try and save her friends. or While eating, he almost fell out of his chair in laughter! How funny!, he thought. <-- These are both correct forms of how the standard format of your roleplay post should be presented, though feel free to incorperate your writing style and whatever decoration you feel is needed -- we are, by no means, trying to change the way you write or how long your posts can be{aside from the minimum paragraph}.
To avoid confusion, I would also like to see your best grammer and correct spelling, as well as justifiable forms of punctuation. It's okay if you mess up every now and again -- that's understandable; just don't make it a constant. Dialogue should be in "quotations", in a certain colour, or bold, while thoughts should be in italics or 'like this'. Anything other than this, and Staff will remind you of this rule. If you overlook the warning and reminder we have given you, be aware that we have the right to go into your roleplay posts and change how the dialogue and thoughts are layed out so that it applies to these rules.
Out Of Character conversations, or OOC, during roleplay should be in some form of bracket or paranthesis to set it apart from your roleplaying post: { }, [ ], or ( ).
This roleplay is in liquid time. In other words, you can have your character in more than one thread at a time, all of them happening within the same time-stream or before/after another. The only threads that are fixed points are the ones that directly relate to or are a part of the plot. Plot Threads are only supplied/started by the Staff, should move a bit quicker than normal threads, can seem a bit disorganised, and point to a certain goal or objective that will put everyone one step further in the game. They will usually involve most if not all characters to participate in one-three threads{especially canons}, and they will be discussed before being played out -- so be on the look out for Plot Parts and which characters or species are supposed to do what. Regarding your own threads, however, only 4 or 5 characters can join in one thread at a time, not including youma that are NPCed. 6, only if you ask permission from a staff member first. Remember that you may only join an open thread if it has 5 posts or less . After 5 posts have been submitted to the thread, and there is room for another character, then please ask the creator of the thread if your character may join in before doing so. If the thread is private and has tags, you must request permission from the thread creator before joining. Keep in mind, however, that these rules may not apply to the NPC Youma and, sometimes, even to one of the Night Generals or Dark Senshi, given that you and the members within your thread decide to want trouble in the thread or a battle to occur. Both private and open threads should follow precedent posting order, though{ex; If Susie started the thread, and John replied to it, then Lee joined in afterward, the posting order would be Susie, John, Lee until someone else joined, which then would add that person to do their turn when it came around, or the posting order could possibly be the same for the rest of the thread}. And... don't outdo or stress yourself -- make sure you only create and reply to as many threads as you can handle.
No spamming. Post in the correct board for everything. Adverts go in the "Advertising" board, affiliates in the "Affiliating" board, questions go in the "Questions" board, etc. If you're new to the site and don't know where to post something, PM a staff member or ask someone in the Chatbox, or post in the "Questions" board -- we'll help you. This also calls for the rule of no double-posting, as it is annoying and can get out of hand. The "Modify" button is there for a reason -- if you'd edited your post, put what you changed/added in bold or notify us in the Chatbox.
Third,
Okay. So we all love to make our own characters and play them out. However, it becomes an issue when your character is much too powerful or much too knowledgable about the situation. Remember, every character has flaws. Nobody, not even the SM canons, are perfect. Even though Sailor Moon and Sailor Saturn may seem like they do, characters cannot and do not have the power of God. They have weaknesses and insecurities just like you and I, and every other person. Even Chaos nad Cosmos, who we know are very powerful, have insecirites and weaknesses that make them at least semi-human. So, honestly, No Mary-sues/Gary-stus.
*Thus far, the only small exception to this rule is Chaos, who was powerful enough to essentially create her daughter, Eris.
These rules also apply to power-playing and god-modeling. There shall be none of it. While you may attempt or hint to do something to someone else's character, you cannot actually puppet someone else's character without their consent. Control your characters and your characters alone.
If you apply for a canon character, be aware that you may only have three. Look at the canon list to see which characters are available if you are interested in applying for a character from the series or a site canon. Try not to apply for canons that are all in one group -- try to space your canons out a bit{like, an inner and an outer, a dark senshi and an inner, two inners and an ally, two dark senshi and a quartet, a civilian, a Night General, and a Shintennou, etc.}. This is so that other players may have the same variety as you did. As for your original characters, you may apply for as many as five, as long as you able to keep all of them active. This includes Constellation senshi, as well as any original heroes/allies, villians, civilians, knights or senshi that you completely make up. If you come to have five, and you wish to create another/more than five, please approach a staff member before submitting an application. Due to your activity on the site and how well you balance out your character activity, we may or may not agree to you having more than five original characters{plus, canons}.
For every character you create that is approved, you must also make an account for that character. Seperate accounts are required to limit confusion as well as to have a form of organisation and specify the character whom is in roleplay. However, do not just make an account without purpose unless you are registering with us for the first time or creating an account for your character who has recently been accepted. I ask that you provide an 100x100 avatar/icon or/and a 300-ishx-500-ish image of the particular character for each account. Not displaying any images at all after a week of having the account will have Staff PMing you or reminding you of this rule. Image violations will immediately result in the image being taken down and replaced with a message saying, depending on which rule you have broken, that you either should find a new image that is within the required sizes or use an image that is appropriate for the site.
Fourth,
Since this is Sailor Moon, and half of the series basically revolves around such, I will say that love and romance between characters is allowed. This includes bisexual, homosexual, pansexual, and heterosexual relations between characters. All I ask is that you stray away from sexual scenes and acts in roleplay, as that should not be presented on the site in any form or fashion. If you must, take the details to PM, and "fade to black" the intercourse that took place in roleplay or subtly imply that the two characters engaged in the act. Be warned that if this rule is broken, that I will be forced to eternally ban sexual scenes or any mention of sexual intercourse entirely. Keep in mind that a good majority of this site's membership will be 14 or younger, and that I don't want this roleplay to be the reason for possible mental scarring. So, please, be respectful.
I shouldn't have to address this... but just in case -- Absolutely no disturbing birth or in-labour scenes. The closest you should get to it, if it even comes to happen in this roleplay, is the mother holding her clean baby after she has given birth. That brings the point across without going into detail.
Canons should be played according to how they act/think in the anime and manga. Although it's up to you to pick whichever anime canon or the manga canon that you feel most familiar with, you may also feel free to mix their anime and manga counterparts for a more prferrable or more playable character. But, please, in any case, play them to your best ability and accordingly. Don't have Setsuna suddenly seem bubbly when you feel like it, or have Mamouru suddenly show immense bounts of emotion. Also remember that feelings of love and crushes shoud stay true to canon characters. This means that Usagi won't suddenly dump Mamoru and start liking Star Healer -- because she never had feelings of love for Yaten in the first place. And, Seiya won't start liking Haruka, because she's dedicated to Michiru and essentially holds a disgust for the Starlight. Basically, no crack-pairings... However, this is not to say that you can't explore certain relationships. If feelings are portrayed or strongly hinted in the anime/manga series,{UsagixRei, UsagixSeiya, SeiyaxKakyuu, MakotoxMinako, AmixTaiki, MinakoxYaten, etc.}, I have no qualms with you and the player experimenting on a romantic level if you both agree to do so. Just remember that the exploration cannot affect the future, and while the characters may still feel a slight pang of affection for one another, that all series characters should stay true to original canon feelings in the end{Usagi should stay/go back to Mamoru no matter what, and any strong friendships should revert back to soley that}. Here is the list of Canon Pairings that you are allowed to explore; either they still have or have had chemistry at one point or another.
It's okay for one your own characters{original characters} to have a crush on a canon, too, if you'd like. Only one of your original characters are allowed to be in a romantic relationship with a canon character, and it must be a canon character that is, seemingly, not dedicated to anyone else. But, that is only after you have requested permission from the person who is playing said canon character, and he/she agrees to an originalxcanon relationship pairing with your character. Once the player has agreed, you may submt your original character application for the requested canon character. Staff and the player of your requested canon shall approve of said original character before you may play out the canonxoriginal romance in the game{yes, you need to develop the feelings and romance throughout the game}. Likewise, your original characters are free to mingle and have relationships with each other as you please.
None of your original characters should be related to any of the canon characters in any sense. Usagi should not have a long lost sister and Michiru should not have a cousin. It's not in the series, so it's not here.
*The only, ONLY exception is the Dark Senshi, canons made for the site and plot who were originally the daughters of the Inner and Outer senshi of Crystal Tokyo.
None of your original characters, including knights, senshi, heroes/allies, and villians, shall come from the same planets, comets/asteroids, or stars as the characters in the series. Ex; Your original character cannot be from the Moon or Venus or Ceres, or any other claimed planets/stars in the Sailor Moon anime or manga. It must be a star, planet, or asteroid that is not mentioned or called for in the series.
Drama and suspense in-character is good. Just don't go overboard.
No guns allowed in the rp unless they are a toy or gag gun, or project some type of energy, beam, blast, or something otherwise approved by an admin. No bullets. At all. This is, afterall, based on a magical girl series. And, if you are to have any sharp or blade weapons, do adhere to the 'no gore' and 'no killing' rules appropriately.
Fighting/Violence in between characters, if any, is acceptable, but remember the power-playing and god-modeling rules. Be fair -- win some, lose some. No controlling someone else's character without their consent, and no killing off canon characters, such as Usagi, Mamoru, Chibiusa, Minako, Michiru, Hotaru, Rei, and the like unless approved of by a staff member or otherwise essential for the site plot. Also keep in mind, however, that, if you get permission to take the life of a canon character that they, must be capable of being revived in some form or fashion not long after their demise. We don't want any canon characters to stay permanently dead. And, killing of original characters and site canons are only okay if the owner of the preferred original character says it's okay to kill off their character. Keep in mind that this is Sailor Moon, too, and that sometimes characters may be capable of returning from the dead or purified in order to become themselves again, mostly by miraculous or rare circumstances. If you ever have a character killed or baddie that you'd like revived or purified, please ask a staff member first before planning the character's ressurection. It is to be accepted on a case-by-case basis, as some site-canon and original characters must remain in the afterlife. But, please, do not let that refrain you from asking!
Profanity in-character is allowed, too. Just keep it to a basic minimum. Swearing like "hell", "damn", and "ass" are alright, but do not drop any f-bombs or any of the mothers.
Regarding Senshi and Civilian identities, it should be understood that most, if not all civilians, villians, and players, do not know your character's senshi, knight, or other alter-ego. It may be okay for for one or two civilians to know and the character's teammates, but, ultimately, when they are in senshi or knight form, he/she should be unrecognisible, and only referranced by their planetary senshi or knight name. One should not be able to instantly know or automatically guess that one is a senshi or knight from their appearance in civilian form, either... they should either see the transformation process or be told by a senshi/knight/whatever if the senshi/knight/whatever chooses to confess their alternate identity to them. Senshi/Knight identities, and sometimes even villian aliases, are kept hidden for a reason, often tranforming behind things or out of popular sight. If the current enemies knew that civilian Usagi Tsukino was actually Sailor Moon, for example, then life would become a living hell for her -- she would have no peace, no free time, and would spend all of her time worrying about when the enemy would strike, have to go into major hiding, or either have to face the enemy head on somehow before they put her or her friends and family in ultimate danger; one of them could even die trying. The same goes for any character with a senshi, knight, or other identity; they can't afford to reveal themselves for the safety of themselves, their family, and their friends. Though, of course, this is not to say that they can't accidentally or deliberately transform in front of others and allow them to discover their secret -- you may play out such a revealation in the game if you wish and you have a agreed with another/other player{s} on it . Though, it would be recommended that you consider the consequences of both parties' actions before doing so.
Fifth,
Everyone starts with a blank slate of five chances. During your first two violations of rule-breaking, you will get warnings. If you break the rules a third time, we have the right to strip away your most active character or a canon character. If you break the rules a fourth time, we will take all of your characters away from you and ban you from the site for a month. On your fifth and last offense, you will be banished and banned from this site forever, never to return.
So, my advice to you is to try to stay with the plot and obey the rules, even if you have to read them a million times to remember them. This also implies the C-box rules. Listen to Staff at all times, fore we are the rulers of this roleplay, and we hereby declare that we are able to add or remove rules as we wish.
Overall, just have fun, k? =-) And, if you haven't already read it, please make your way to the Plot and Need-To-Knows so you won't be lost.
Thank you for taking your time to read all of these rules!<3
